Cute - weird - funny - nice - strange ....??

I have been planning to make these dolls for a long time now. The fabric has been lying here quite a while now, but with the holiday of the girls and our make-over at the attic the time hasn’t been there. The other day I finally took some time to make one of each and to my surprise they didn’t turn out the way I thought they would.

I wanted to make a girl and a boy doll in all natural fibers. The fabric, the print and the filling are all natural, but the fabric is also with stretch in, which influence the form when I put the filling in it. That means for instance that the head gets a little bit misshaped and look different than I planned it to look like.

Now I just don’t know if that is a problem or that it fit that kind of doll. A doll first of all never has the right proportions and many looks quite funny and cute at the same time. But what do you think of these two?  Are they cute or do I have to make some changes here and there? I just don’t know for sure. Could you please help me a little? Please!!!

  1. I find that leaving a plain border around the image prevents too much misshaping when stuffed, but these look great!

    1. I think you are right about the white border. I do that with other products as well. This time I thought I would make it different, and maybe it's ok' this way or maybe I try it with a border again? Thanks for the tip Alice.

    2. You're welcome. I think they look really sweet anyway :)

Tak for dit råd.

Men tak for tippet.

  8. The dolls are sooo cute just the way they are! Indeed, the head shape is different from your drawing but it doesn't matter. Dolls are cuter when they don't have the right proportions!!!
